How to Customize Mercurial Vapors

Nike's Mercurial Vapor is a customizable soccer cleat available for both men and women in the same colors or options. Three customizable categories provide for nine total options. Performance options include traction/cushioning and lace shroud. Customizable color options include the base color, secondary color, swoosh and laces. Text and graphics can also be added to the shoe, including long iD/symbol, short iD, and graphic.

Instructions

      Go to Reference 1 and select "Start Blank."

      Click on the arrow next to "What's left?", located under the progress bar on the right. A drop-down menu will appear with all of the customizable options.

      Click on traction/cushioning type and select one option for each. A window will open on the left for each option that you select for this and the following steps. The Mercurial Vapor offers three traction options: (1) FGB, for use on short grass that may be be slightly wet; (2) HG-V, for use on hard, dry, natural surfaces; (3) SG, for use on wet or slippery fields. Cushioning comes in either cushioned for softer soles and lighter cleat pressure or responsive for a firmer sole and faster control.

      Click on lace shroud. This is an optional choice. Click either "Yes" or "No." If you want a lace shroud, it will automatically be the same color as your base color.

      Click on base color. The Mercurial Vapor is available in voltage cherry, Lyon blue, dark obsidian, bright cactus (yellow) and metallic platinum (white).

      Click on secondary color. Mercurial Vapors come in 14 different secondary colors: vibrant yellow, total orange, challenge red, solar red, deep garnet, club purple, Lyon blue, Neptune blue, cool mint, stadium green, bright cactus, metallic platinum, anthracite (gray), and dark obsidian.

      Click on swoosh. Colors available for this option are the same as the secondary colors.

      Click on the laces. Colors available for this option are the same as the secondary colors.

      Click on long iD/symbol. This opens a separate window where you can choose between two optiond. This option appears on the outside of the heel on each foot. If you choose "Long iD," a drop-down window will appear where you can type in up to eight characters, A to Z and 0 thru 9. Clicking on the Show Me button will place your iD on the model shoe in the window. If you choose logo, the word "MERCURIAL" will appear on the side of the shoe. Colors available for this option are the same as the secondary colors.

      Click on short iD. The short iD is optional and appears only on the outside of the heel on left foot. If you unclick the "Add an iD" at the top of the box, a short iD will not appear on the shoe. A short iD is a maximum of two characters and can be used for initials or jersey numbers. Colors available for this option are the same as the secondary colors.

      Click on graphic. The graphic is optional and appears only on the outside of the heel on right foot. Select from five categories: (1) country flag, (2) federation, (3) club logo, (4) mascot, or (5) none.
