Fastpitch softball is a competitive sport played primarily by women. The sport is recognized by the motion of the pitchers referred to a "windmill" style.     • The Higher Ground Fastpitch Softball Camp is based in Tifton, Georgia. According to the camp's website, ot was founded in 1989 by Bobby Simpson. Simpson has participated in as an instructor and producer for about 55 instructional softball DVDs. He has also published more than 30 magazine articles for leading softball publications as well as a quarterly newsletter, Getting Better Every Day, for his own company. He has been involved in all levels of softball from league play to collegiate to international competitions. The camp features overnight, team and day camps. Each camp is open to players of all skill and experience levels. Programs can be specialized to focus on a specific area.

    Lu Harris-Champer's Bulldog Softball Camp

    • The Lu Harris-Champer's Bulldog Softball Camp is a fastpitch softball camp that takes place at the University of Georgia. The camp is led by the coaching staff of the college's softball team. Coach Harris-Champer led the Lady Bulldogs to the Women's College Word Series in 2009, a first for the university. Overnight and day camps are available for players attending the camp. All players from ages 8 to 18 are encouraged to attend. Players are divided into groups according to age and skill level to work on all aspects of the game. Parents are encouraged to watch their children during camp if they would like. An up-to-date physical is required to attend the camp. Several dates are available during June and July.

    Georgia Southern University Softball Camps

    • The Georgia Southern University Softball Camp takes place on the campus of the university in Statesboro, Georgia. The camps are designed to fit the needs of players at all skill levels. The coaching staff of Georgia Southern leads the camps and focus on developing fundamentals. The college also hosts camps for high school players interested in displaying their skills for recruitment purposes. These camps are a good way to get your name into the recruiting world. Camps run throughout the summer and specific dates are posted on the Georgia Southern website in April or May of each year.

    University of West Georgia Softball Camp

    • Erika Swanson, head coach of the University of West Georgia, is the host of a series of summer softball camps for fastpitch softball. Each camp focuses on a different topic such as pitching, hitting or defense. Players can attend one or all of the camps depending on their areas of greatest need. The camp does offer discounts for players attending several of the camps. Players are divided by age and skill level.
