Sports leagues are expensive ventures, and small organizations constantly seeks ways to generate revenue required for smooth operations. Fundraising is a major component in keeping leagues stable. Fastpitch softball is no exception.

  1. Selling Campaigns

    • One way to raise money is by selling goods door-to-door. This can be done with different products, though chocolate is one of the more popular. Most chocolate distributors offer deep discounts to groups looking to sell their products, allowing the league and distributor to earn a little profit. This is an especially popular fundraising method for youth leagues, with some organizations offering incentives to players who can sell the most units during the fundraising drive.

    Dunk Tanks

    • Using a dunk tank might be fitting. Tanks can be bought or rented, depending on whether the league intends to use them as a regular tool for fundraising. Having a local celebrity or other well-known person sitting in the tank can increase donations. Leagues could offer a certain number of balls for a set price, such as five throws for $5, to raise money.

    • Holding an exhibition game is another effective way to raise money and league awareness. If the league has a high-profile, then having the best players facing off in a head-to-head game could draw good crowds. Raffles and other drawings chould be held to combine fundraising opportunities.
