How to Stop My Goggles From Steaming Up
Once a race starts, the last thing a swimmer needs is for his goggles to steam up and ruin the time he's been working for all season. Fogged up goggles are not only aggravating, but very dangerous. Clouded vision can make even the most practiced swimmer propel herself at full speed directly into a wall or surrounding lane. Luckily, this is a problem with an easy solution.

1
Remove your goggles and splash a little water from the pool into the eye cups.
-
2
Rub the water into your goggles with your index finger. The moisture will clean your goggles and make them less likely to steam once they are placed on your warm face.
-
3
Shake out your goggles to prevent any excess water from lingering, which could irritate your eyes during your race.
-
4
Put your goggles back on, this time making sure to press down firmly on all sides. If you have enough suction holding your goggles on, they should steam significantly less, if at all.
