How to Get Mud out of a Tennis Shoe Bottom

Mud doesn't often get stuck in tennis shoes if you only wear the shoes while playing. If you do get mud in the bottom of your tennis shoes, correctly using any of several simple methods will get your shoes mud-free. Playing tennis with muddy shoes can be dangerous because you can slip and fall. You could also deposit mud onto the court, which could interfere with the ball.

Instructions

    • 1

Take both shoes off if they are on your feet. Stand outside the court area and smack the soles hard against each other several times.

    • 2

Grab a stick and poke the mud loose; scrape it out if it's still stuck. Smack the soles together again.

    • 3

Place your shoes in a bath tub or sink and then run warm water over the bottoms while wiping the mud with a cloth. Soak the soles in water for several minutes if the mud is still stuck.
