Tennis Camps for Teens in Utah

Tennis camps for teens are a good way for young people to stay active and get outdoors during the summer months. Tennis camps in Utah accept both novice and advanced players. The camps vary in length, type of instruction and cost, but all are a great way for kids to have some fun, make new friends and refine their skills.
  1. Coach Mike's Tennis

    • Coach Mike's Tennis Academy in Salt Lake City offers year-round tennis lessons as well as special summer offerings. For both summer camp and year-round lessons, students are divided into age groups -- ages 4 to 7 to an intermediate/advanced group for teens who play for their high school teams. Summer training camp information is available every spring, and until then teens can get a preview of what to expect by attending a Friday stroke technique clinic or a Sunday social.

Nike U.S. Sports Camps: Utah State University

    • Nike and U.S. Sports Camps offer a diverse training program that includes a variety of summer camp experiences for teens. At Nike's Junior Overnight Tennis Camp at Utah State University, campers receive 5 to 6 hours of daily instruction with a low camper-staff ratio and 24-hour on-site supervision. There are also off-court activities in the evening. Students work on improving their serving, playing doubles and developing new strategies. As of 2011, the cost is $655 for mid-July overnight camp (5 days, 4 nights) and $325 for day camp (6 hours per day, for 5 days, 4 nights).

Nike U.S. Sports Camps: Park City

    • There is also a Nike junior tennis day camp each summer in Park City, Utah. Park City participants receive up to 30 hours of instruction and off-the-court activities. The camp is held at the Canyons Resort at the Red Pine Club. Prices are usually comparable to the Utah State day-camp option. Contact 1-800-NIKE-CAMP for the latest information.

    Utah Tennis Association

    • The Utah Tennis Association runs a Wheelchair Tennis Camp every summer at Liberty Park in Salt Lake City. Both novice and experienced wheelchair players are welcome to participate with other wheelchair-bound participants and receive professional instruction from the Intermountain Tennis Association. The camp takes place each June, and encompasses one full weekend. Loaner equipment is available, and as many as 20 participants take part each year. Campers also play in an end-of-camp tournament, and can also return to enjoy Friday tournaments throughout the warm weather months.
