1
Grip the disc tightly. In the power forehand grip, plant your pointer and middle fingers together, firmly against the inside rim of the disc. Your middle finger should be against the rim of the disc, with your index finger applying additional pressure. A tight grip will help to ensure that you generate enough spin on the disc to keep it aloft for the longer period of time a huck demands.

2
Stand facing your target or receiver, with your legs spread to provide a wide, supportive base. You must maintain your pivot through the duration of the throw, but establishing a wide base will help you stay balanced through the throw.
-
3
Pull the disc back along the right-hand side of your body, with your lower arm roughly parallel to the ground and your elbow away from your body.
-
4
Step with your right foot toward your target, but not directly at it. The purpose of this step is to transfer your weight forward, not to align your body with the target. Stepping away from your core at about a 45-degree angle, half-way to the target is about right. Much of this depends on the defense and what you are comfortable with, however.

5
As you step, whip your disc-holding arm forward, releasing the disc just after your hand gets past the point where you have planted your right foot. Snap your wrist at the end to induce extra spin and power.
