Verado
-
Mariner Verado outboard motors feature an Engine Guardian System, a piece of SmartCraft technology that monitors engine readings in order to warn boaters of potential problems with the motor. An insulated cowl system, idle relief silencer and induction muffling chambers reduce the amount of noise created by the engine. The Mariner Verado uses a SmartCraft digital starter and shifter. Mariner Verado models between 150 hp and 300 hp have a maximum rpm between 5,800 and 6,400 while the 135 hp has a maximum between 5,200 and 6,400 rpm. Motors from 135 hp to 200 hp feature four cylinders with a displacement of 1732 cubic centimeters and a gear ratio of 2.09-to-1. The 250 hp and 300 hp engines have a displacement of 2,598 cubic centimeters with six cylinders. The 250 hp Mariner outboard has a gear ratio of 1.85-to-1 and the 300 hp has a ratio of 1.75-to-1.
Optimax
-
Optimax outboard engines from Mariner have a maximum rpm ranging from 5,000 to 5,750 when the throttle is full. The exceptions are the 135 hp, which ranges from 5,000 to 5,600 rpm, and the 150 hp, which has a maximum rpm ranging from 5,250 to 5,750. The 135 hp and 150 hp Optimax motors are equipped with six cylinders and have a displacement of 2,507 cubic centimeters. The 200 hp and 225 hp engines also have six cylinders, featuring a displacement of 3,032 cubic centimeters. The 75, 90 and 115 hp engines use three cylinders and have a displacement of 1,526 cubic centimeters. Mariner Optimax outboards utilize an electric, turn-key starter and a direct fuel injection system.
FourStroke
-
Mariner FourStroke outboard motors from 25 hp to 115 hp use an electronic fuel injection system and an electric turn-key starter. Models between 2.5 hp and 6 hp use a manual starter while 8 hp to 30 hp engines have either an electric or manual starter. The FourStroke series has a maximum rpm of 6,400 for the 115 hp model and a minimum of 4,500 rpm for the 4 hp and 5 hp motor. Engines between 50 hp and 115 hp use four cylinders. The 80 to 115 hp models have a displacement of 1,732 cubic centimeters and 50 to 60 hp motors have displacements of 995 cubic centimeters. The 25 and 30 hp model has three cylinders and a displacement of 526 cubic centimeters while the 40 hp uses three cylinders with a displacement of 747 cubic centimeters. Mariner FourStroke engines between 8 and 20 hp feature two cylinders and a displacement of 209 cubic centimeters for the 8 and 9.9 hp and 351 cubic centimeters for the 15 and 20 hp models.
