How to Wear a Nose Clip

People who swim for sport or leisure often experience congestion in the nose due to the water. This is especially true of synchronized swimmers, who spend long times under water engaging in strenuous activity. Many swimmers wear nose clips over their noses for this reason. Nose clips sit over the nose and pinch the nostrils together to prevent water from entering the nose and flowing into the sinus cavities. Either nose clips have a strap attached that encircles the neck or they sit atop the nose without a strap encircling the neck.

Instructions

    • 1

Slip the strap around your neck, if the nose clip has a strap.

    • 2

Hold the nose clip and spread apart the two pads slightly.

    • 3

Slide the nose clip onto your nose so that the pads sit slightly above each nostril where the nostrils flare. The nose clip should pinch the nose gently closed at this point.

    • 4

Adjust the angle of the nose clip so that the rounded part rests against the bridge of your nose.
