How to Use a Nose Clip
Nose clips squeeze the nose shut and prevent water from entering the nostrils. People often use nose clips when doing water sports such as swimming and kayaking. Water that gets into the nostrils can cause pain and even irritation, especially if the water has chemicals such as chlorine. Some beginner water sports classes require the students to wear nose clips so the students can focus on technique and not worry about breathing. Nose clips are small enough to carry around and are easy to use.

1
Place the neck band around the neck if there is one. The neck band prevents the nose clip from getting lost underwater if it comes off the nose.
-
2
Use the thumb and index finger of each hand to hold each end of the nose clip, pull the ends to the sides, and slip the nose clip down over the nose.
-
3
Adjust the nose clip so that the two ends squeeze the widest part of the nose until the nostrils are sealed, and the bent part lies against the nose bridge.
