How to Make a Surfboard Wall Rack

Storing surfboards properly is necessary to maintain their ideal condition, preserve the wax application and reduce the risk of damage. When living in an apartment or a home with limited space, finding the ideal space might become a challenge. A wall rack is an easy and inexpensive project that will organize and protect the boards.

  • Level
  • Ladder hooks
  • Eye hooks
  • Bungee cord

      Find and mark two studs in the wall that are approximately 4 feet apart. Use a level to verify the two points are level.

      Screw a ladder hook into the each of the points marked on the wall. Rotate the hook clockwise until it is secure with the hook facing up.

      Position and screw two eye hooks between the ladder hooks. One eye hook should be placed about 3 feet above the ladder hooks, the other, a few inches below the ladder hooks.

      Place a surfboard, fin side toward you and leaning toward the wall, on top of the ladder hooks.

      Secure the board on the hooks with a bungee cord. Attach the cord to the top eye hook, then across the board to the bottom eye hook.
