How to Do a Lazy Man Cradle

Wrestling is a combat sport where two athletes face off in head-to-head competition and attempt to turn their opponent onto their back -- scoring a pin, by placing their opponent's shoulders flush against the mat. In order to turn opponents where they do not wish to go, a wrestler employs positions of leverage to force a roll out of their opponent. The Lazy Man Cradle is a maneuver for rolling an opponent which applies pressure on his leg and forces the opponent to turn over, allowing for a pin.

Instructions

    • 1

Roll your opponent onto his stomach, or flatten out your opponent by pulling his legs out from under him, if he is on all fours.

    • 2

Step across the back of your opponent, so you are positioned on his side.

    • 3

Grab the far leg of your opponent, passing your hand under the ankle.

    • 4

Bend the leg up, so the foot is near your opponent's backside.

    • 5

Reach over the head of your opponent and grab across the chest.

    • 6

Turn onto your side -- on the side used to secure your opponent's head -- pulling his leg back and up into the air, as you do so.

    • 7

Roll your opponent onto his shoulders as you turn, to secure the pin.
