Recognition Gifts for Wrestlers

If your child --- or someone you know --- wrestles at the high school or collegiate level, recognize his accomplishments with a special gift. Reasons for such a gift include an outstanding performance at a wrestling meet, winning the match or tournament or even posting a personal best. To honor the wrestler's success, give him a memorable gift that appropriately ties into his chosen sport.

    • In addition to an awarded trophy, ribbon or certificate, recognize her with a gift of custom clothing. Design your own T-shirt or sweatshirt and have it printed at either a retail custom graphics shop or online supplier. Stop in a shop that specializes in custom sports clothing or uniforms and browse through their templates. The apparel item's design could list the wrestler's name, the event, her weight class, the date and city of the event and/or any other relevant information. She will cherish this keepsake for years.

    Footwear

    • Since every athlete enjoys getting new equipment, buy the wrestler you know a new set of wrestling shoes. If he wrestles frequently, he probably goes through shoes on a regular basis or wears shoes that need replacement.     • If the wrestler has worn the same singlet for years, surprise her with a new uniform as a way of recognizing recent accomplishments on the mat.     • Novelty items are available in every sport and make a lighthearted recognition gift for a wrestler. Personalized bumper stickers, coffee mugs, water bottles and T-shirts are common novelty gifts; many contain clever slogans that will amuse the wrestler. Often, these slogans are competitive in nature, and will be well received if the wrestler has just succeeded at an important match.
