Cheerleading Hairstyles With Bangs
-
Ponytail
-
The ponytail is a classic cheerleader hairstyle, as the bouncing hair accentuates the cheerleader's movements. If you have bangs, you can create a hairstyle that sets you apart while keeping most of your hair off out of your eyes. Separate your bangs forward from the rest of your hair, and pull your hair back to the crown of your head with a brush or a comb, gathering it together and pulling it taut and securing it with a rubber band or hair elastic. Brush your bangs down over your forehead, securing them with hairspray. If they obscure your vision at all, consider trimming them so that they end at your eyebrows or slightly above.
Poof
-
You can temporarily tie back your bangs with this distinctive look, which allows you to do whatever you like with the rest of your hair, from wearing it down to pulling it back in a ponytail. Gather your bangs together and brush them back, flipping them over to create a loop going backwards from your hairline. Secure this loop or "poof" underneath with two bobby pins and hairspray, and style the rest of your hair as desired.
Barrettes
-
Barrettes make a classic look for cheerleaders who want to keep their bangs out of their eyes. They work best when the rest of the hair is left down. You can choose to divide your bangs in two and pin each side back with a separate barrette or to combine the bangs and pull them straight back or to one side, fastening them with a single barrette.
Headband
-
A headband will keep your bangs out of your eyes, but you run the risk of losing it during flips and other cheerleading moves. To prevent this, secure the headband with bobby pins; cloth headbands work better than plastic headbands for this reason. As with the poof, you can wear the rest of your hair either up or down; both are flattering hairstyles for cheerleaders with bangs.
