How to Make Cheer Hair Ribbons

Cheerleading uniforms are adorable no matter the age of the cheerleader. Wearing a uniform creates a sense of unity, team spirit and pride. To pull the look together, try making team hair ribbons. They will look great as the ponytail keeps hair out of the cheerleader's eyes. You can host a ribbon party at the beginning of the season so the girls can get to know one another while having fun making the ribbons for themselves.

Instructions

    • 1

Purchase ribbon of the same color as the uniform. You may need to buy several spools to ensure there is enough. Ribbon of every different color and shade can be found at craft and hobby stores.

    • 2

Purchase hair ties. The hair ties will be used to attach the ribbons to.

    • 3

Loop the ribbon through the hair tie so that the hair tie is right in the middle of the ribbon. Tie the ribbon in a knot so it stays in place.

    • 4

Put the cheerleaders hair into a ponytail twisting the hair tie with the ribbon around the hair.

    • 5

Twist the hair tie so the knot of the ribbon is facing upwards on top of the ponytail.

    • 6

Pull the ribbon down the sides of the ponytail, crisscrossing at the bottom and then pull the ribbon back up the sides (do this so you can not see the hair tie around the hair only the ribbon).

    • 7

Tie the ribbon into a bow and you're finished.
