How to Make a Cheer Bow With Bowdabra

Cheerleading is one of the most expensive sports to participate in between coaching fees, private lessons, competition fees, travel accommodations and uniforms. Uniforms alone can often cost upwards of $500 dollars and even the smallest accessories can empty parents' wallets. These costs come from the precision it takes for companies to design and produce multiple, perfectly matching pieces. Cheerleaders can now save cash by making professional looking team hair bows at home with a few simply supplies and the inexpensive Bowdabra.

Instructions

    • 1

Fold the Bowdabra wire in half. Place the Bowdabra wire into the Bowdabra machine and tuck the wire ends underneath the machine base.

    • 2

Cut 2 feet of ribbon. Leaving 6 inches on the end, place the ribbon in the Bowdabra.

    • 3

Twist the ribbon 180 degrees so the ribbon now has a fold in it, where the middle of the Bowdabra machine is.

    • 4

Fold the ribbon over, creating a loop. Twist the ribbon 180 degrees again, placing the ribbon through the middle of the Bowdabra. Repeat this loop and twist process once more to create a matching ribbon loop for the left side of the bow. Make sure loops and ribbon ends are evenly sized.

    • 5

Insert the Bowdabra Wand in the Bowdabra and push the ribbon layers down so they scrunch together. Remove the Bowdabra Wand.

    • 6

Remove the wire ends from underneath the Bowdabra machine. Put the loose wire ends through the looped end. Pull taut.

    • 7

Wrap the wire behind to the back of bow and twist the wire to secure the bow.

    • 8

Using the glue gun, squeeze a strip of hot glue onto the clip. Place the back of the bow on the glued clip and let dry completely.

    • 9

Add rhinestones, sequins or embellishments as desired. Let dry completely.
