Cheerleading Scrapbook Ideas

The Cover
-
Begin by choosing a scrapbook that has a cover with the team's color or colors on it. Then, using a glitter marker, have each cheerleader write his or her name on the cover. Below the name, place a photo of that cheerleader. Some scrapbooks have built-in photo spaces on the cover. If yours does not, consider purchasing a cardstock frame that you can place the photo in, then glue it to the front of the scrapbook.
The Pages and Photos
-
Decide how you want to organize your scrapbook. One book could cover one year, or it could cover all of the years spent as a cheerleader. Alternately, the book could focus on one major event, such as a state cheerleading competition or championship sporting event. Then, plan your pages. Decide how many pages will be used for each section of your book. For example, if your book has 10 pages, you could use one page for each month of the school year. Use Post-it notes or other sticky paper to label what you are going to put on each page.
Next, organize your photos. Sort and place them in piles according to which page they will be on. After they are sorted, crop them. You will want a variety of sizes on each page, but you will not want to crowd a page with too many photographs. Three or four photographs per page is best, depending on the size of your scrapbook. Lay them out on each page before you secure them.
The Finishing Touches
-
To make your scrapbook more interesting, consider framing each photo with brightly colored paper. Choose colors and patterns that compliment your cheerleading theme. For example, choose paper with your uniform's colors on it. For football photos, select paper with a football pattern. After you have secured the photos, use a marker to write your favorite cheers around the photographs. Create a tiny megaphone out of paper, and have the cheers coming out of it in a speech bubble. Write the names of each of your teammates as well. In fact, consider having a "signature" page, where all of your teammates can sign their names. Finish your scrapbook by placing stickers on the pages. You can find cheerleading themed stickers at any crafts store.
