How to Do a G-O Cheerleading Cheer
Instructions

-
1
Decide the words for your G-O cheer. A basic G-O cheer can use the words "G-O-Team-Go-Color-Let's-Go." Use your team's name, colors or both. Other phrases commonly used include "go, fight and win" or "get-'em."
-
2
Set the words to a beat. The basic G-O cheer in Step 1 uses eight hand claps to keep the rhythm. Set each letter or word to one clap. You can use a clap as a pause between words for emphasis. Practice the timing and tone.
-
3
Add motions to the cheer. Vertical motions like cones, twists like tummy tucks and legs pumps add energy to the cheer and help capture the attention of the crowd.
-
4
Put one motion to each letter or word spoken. You can combine a leg pump with a vertical motion or a twist with an arm motion into one motion.
-
5
Clap the words to the cheer one time so the crowd knows what cheer to yell. Repeat the cheer and add motions the second time through the cheer. Continue each additional round with motions.
-
6
Listen for the captain or co-captain to call "Last Time." This signals you to go through the words and motions on final time. You may want to change the final move of the cheer or allow a freestyle ending of yelling, clapping and motion.
