Fundraise for a Cheerleading Squad
-
1
Open a team bank account. This account should have at least three authorized users, for example: the coach, the assistant coach and the team mom. Many banks offer free checking accounts for sports teams.
-
2
Get sponsors for your team from local businesses or individuals. Most sponsorships are tax deductible (check with your cheer organization for specifics on non-profit tax status) and many local businesses owners will gladly sponsor a team for this reason. In return, their business logos should be placed in sports programs, on team banners or on warm up attire.
-
3
Ask for donations from individuals. Family members and friends may be willing to donate money to your team in exchange for some type of recognition. Usually a mention in the team newsletter or a special mention at the end of season awards banquet is enough to coerce family and friends to donate money.
-
4
Sell candy bars or other edible items door to door. Many fundraising companies will allow you to sell items before paying for them. This requires no money upfront and you usually repay the company half of what was earned in sales and keep the rest as profit.
-
5
Organize a cookout at your local grocery store. Because of high traffic in these areas, organizing a BBQ in the front is a great way to earn money for your squad. All you do is assign players and parents to cook at the grill and prepare small meals for customers.
