1
Choose a style of wristband you want to wear. You may want ones that fit around the wrist, or some that fit slightly higher around the forearm. Many baseball players choose the high forearm. Visit any local athletic apparel store to choose the wristbands.

2
Select the material you want. Today's standard models are made in cotton, but the market has expanded into nylon, polyester and even spandex. Cotton wristbands absorb moisture more so than the other materials. This may be important, if you hold a bat or tennis racket in your hands.
-
3
Select a color that would best match your outfit or uniform. If you play a sport where you have two uniforms, you may want to match your wristbands to the colors of the clothes.
-
4
Sew your name on the wristband. You can align letter stencils and use a needle and thread to attach your name. Use a double-stitch, so the lettering will adhere and not come off during heavy use. You may want to sew on your personal number from your uniform. Again, use a double stitch to connect the number stencil.
