Fun Spirit Week Activities to Play in a High School Rally

There are a number of different ways for students, cheerleaders in particular, to show their support of the high school and its sports team over the course of the week before a big game, leading up to the high school pep rally. These activities range from crafts to contests between the students to see who has the most school spirit.
  1. Wall Decorating Contest

    • Walls along a certain hallway in the high school can be set aside for the wall decorating contest. This contest entails classrooms creating crafts or finding items to post on the wall that show the most school spirit. This can be pictures of players, cool drawings of the school mascot, a visual history of the high school and all its great sports teams or original artwork by students about the spirit of the school. The winner of the contest should be decided by school alumni or by one of the sports teams or the school administrators. The winners should be awarded a pizza party or some other prize that makes the contest competitive and revs up school spirit.

    Pep Rally Pies

    • A vote should be organized for all the students to decide which five teachers should get a pie in the face at the pep rally. Each student is allowed to register one vote for one of the five teachers. This will encourage teachers on the ballot to campaign for other teachers to get pied.

    Week of Activities

    • Other activities range from a powder puff football game involving junior girls playing the senior girls to costume days. A talent show can also be held, with students selected to write their own versions of the school fight song.
