Dance Team Camp Gifts

Dance camp is a time for cheer groups to perfect their craft, but more importantly, it is a time to rebuild that much-needed team spirit. One thing that helps to build the team spirit is a gift that is given to the whole team, usually by the team captain. Here are some simple and affordable ideas for gifts.

  1. Hair Accessories

    • One thing many cheerleaders have in common are the hair accessories they use. Find a selection of matching hairbands for ponytails, or headbands for practice. There is a large variety of ponytail holders with different accessories and colors. Use the team colors as a guide when buying. If there are male members of the team with short hair, substitute hair accessories for sweatbands, either for the head or wrists.

    • Look for items on which the team name can be printed. This could be a sports bag, T-shirt, medallion or a stuffed animal. All of the dancers need to carry a bag with a change of clothes and shoes; get a matching bag for everybody with the team name or mascot printed on it. A charm bracelet is a nice idea; have the first charm of the bracelet engraved with the team name and the current year. For the stuffed animal, there are cheer bears available that can have team names printed on their little shirts.

    Gift Bags

    • Gather a bunch of small items together and put them into a gift bag made with the team colors. Add a sports bottle, hair accessories, glitter, energy bars, candy, socks and matching shoelaces in team colors. These are just a few suggestions, but any number of fun and small items can be used to make a great gift bag for the whole team.
