Easy Sports Crafts

Doing crafts for sporting events or sports teams is great fun and a wonderful bonding exercise to do with your kids. It also allows you to show your love for a sports team and the lengths you will go to encourage them to play hard and win the game. Most of these sports crafts can be done very inexpensively and in a short amount of time.
  1. Banner

    • For kids or a high school sporting event, creating a banner which the team can run through before they head out onto the court or field is always a fun and entertaining idea for a sports craft. Simply buy a large roll of paper from a crafts store and unroll it about 20 feet. Using paint, markers or anything you want to use to make designs on it, you and your kids can go nuts, writing team numbers, slogans and logos all over the banner. With the team's approval, unfurl the banner for the entire crowd to see before the players bash through it, signaling their entrance into the game.

    Witty Signs

    • If you are going to a college or professional sporting event, especially one that is being televised, coming up with your own sign to hold up is another fun project before the game. A sign with a witty slogan about how good your own team is can work, as well as a funny, non-offensive saying about how bad the other team is. The real trick in making your sign to hold up at the game is to figure out how to make one that isolates the letters from the network who is televising the game so they will possibly zoom in on you holding up the sign. Using the network letters as acronyms makes for a fun and arguably educational sports crafts project. Use poster board, glitter and markers, but make sure that whatever you write is big enough to be read from far away.

    Homemade Jerseys

    • With all the different jersey shops online now, it's rather easy and inexpensive to buy all of the materials to make your own jersey for your favorite team. This is a fun crafts project for you and your kids or spouse; you can sew or iron on the numbers on the team jersey as well as the last name or any logos and symbols. What's even better is that this jersey will be more unique than any of the other jerseys people have bought at stores. You will prove your devotion to your team by taking the time to craft your own jersey.
