Ideas for Tennis Banners
-
Multiple Banners
-
Multiple banners are ideal for groups of two or more. The signs can have correlating messages that can be displayed in succession. Messages can feature multiple parts of the players name or large groups can spell out the players name on smaller poster board signs. The signs can also feature encouraging words, such as "nice, play" or "hit 'em hard". Keep in mind that too much movement can be distracting, and, for that reason, the signs should only be displayed during a break between sets or plays.
Pennant Banners
-
Pennant banners are a small but colorful way to display spirit. Thick paper or felt can be cut into large triangle pieces and attached to long, thin dowels made of wood or plastic. Messages can be drawn onto the material with fabric paint or sharpies. Adhesive letters are also readily available from your local craft store. Pennants are keepsakes that can be used throughout the season.
Customized Banners
-
Many online companies produce high-quality, custom team banners in a variety of materials. The banners can be designed to feature your team's colors and mascot. The personalized message can be simple with the school's name or the name of your favorite player. These can be hung at the back of bleachers or in some stadiums, at the front of the stands.
Fabric or Tarp Banners
-
Fabric and tarp can be used to make large, reusable banners. The material can gain stability by attaching a dowel rod into the two smaller sides before it is hung. Messages can be applied with fabric paint and stencils or large adhesive letters purchased from your local craft store. These banners can also be interchangeable, such as adding new pictures of the player who has had a stand-out week. At the end of the season have each tennis player on the team sign the banner and store it as a keepsake.
