Girls Volleyball Locker Room Decorating Ideas

Most teenagers love to decorate, whether it be their cars, bedrooms or school lockers. So, for teen girls, decorating a volleyball locker room should be right up their alley. Since the locker room is personal space, let the girls customize it with decorations that reflect their personalities. Personalizing their locker room gives the girls a sense of unity that boosts the morale of the team.

  1. Essentials

    • Glue a large mirror in the girls locker room. Glue small mirrors to the doors of the lockers, too. A great team activity is having the girls glue embellishments to the mirrors, such as rhinestones, ribbons, shells, buttons or fabric. Once the small mirrors have been decorated, glue them to the inside of the locker doors.

    Favorite Snapshots

    • Ask the girls to bring in photos of each other. Or use a digital camera to take snapshots of one of their games. If you still need more photos, give each girl an inexpensive disposable camera. Host a night of craft activities for the team, and have the girls take snapshots of each other as they work on the crafts. Cut a large poster board into a volleyball shape. Glue the photos on the board to make a collage and hang it on a locker room wall. Add news clippings about the team to your collage.

    Autograph Wall Decor

    • Have the girls autograph a volleyball jersey or T-shirt with their school logo on it. Hang it on a locker room wall. The girls also can autograph cut-out shapes of volleyball players and volleyballs and hang them on the wall. Use a banner to spike the team's enthusiasm. The banner should be in the school colors and have the school's name on it. Let the girls autograph their banner with their names and jersey numbers.

    Recycle Items

    • Turn old volleyballs into wall decorations. Flatten the balls by pushing out the air. Have the girls autograph the balls. Use double-stick tape along with sticky putty to attach the balls to the locker room walls. Another idea is to tape miniature nets to the locker doors. Nets can be created by cutting small squares from an old volleyball net. Place a nameplate with the athlete's name above the net on her door. Put miniature candies in the nets for the girls.
