Camp Texas focuses on higher-level skills and building the knowledge and teamwork needed for working as part of a three-person officiating team. Instruction, which emphasizes the importance of game management by an officiating team, is a combination of classroom teaching, discussion and live game refereeing. Many of the teachers are experienced and active officials in the Houston area. . The camp is approved by the Texas Association of Sport Officials.

Dallas Basketball Officials Association

The Dallas Basketball Officials Association runs five camps per year. Two of the annual DBOA camps cover the mechanics of three-person officiating teams, two cover the mechanics of two-person teams and one covers both two- and three-person teams. The camps are taught through classroom instruction and the officiating of games over a two-day period. Participants are permitted to take up to two camps per year.

Great Southwest Officials Association

The Great Southwest Officials Association offers a handful of camps scheduled annually at locations throughout Texas. Camps in 2010 will be held at Lewisville, Duncanville and College Station. Though GSOA training is limited to Texas locations, the association covers Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, New Mexico, Mississippi and Kansas. GSOA training camps are the first step to becoming a member of the association, whose clients include Divisions II and III of the NCAA. The camps and association place great value on loyalty, work ethic, respect and professionalism.
