How to Use Profil Boots With Salomon Pilot Bindings

The Fischer Profil ski boot is designed to fit into a NNN-style ski binding. The Profil is available in men's women's and children's sizes and come in either skate or traditional cross-country boot types. The Salomon Pilot binding now uses an SNS-style connecting point for the binding. Using the Fischer Profil with the Salomon Nordic System is possible depending on the year of the binding. Finding the year of the binding may not be possible. Use a method of testing the compatibility of the boot to binding to check the efficacy of the combination prior to heading out onto the snow.

Instructions

    • 1

Put the Profil boots on the table and set one ski with binding on a workbench.

    • 2

Push the metal bar at the end of the toe box on the boot into the binding receiver--the black rubber housing at the toe end of the binding.

    • 3

Check the binding to ensure it has locked and clipped the boot into place. Push the boot up and down in the skiing motion to see if there is adequate movement on the boot and the metal bar is secure.

    • 4

Remove the boot if the attachment points meshed. Put on the boots and your ski gear and head outside to test the skis on snow.

    • 5

Clip into the bindings and go for a short ski. Move your heel up and down to ensure the binding connection is secure and not coming loose, and that it is not too stiff.
