How to Replace Salomon Bindings
Instructions
-
-
1
Remove the foot bed off of your Salomon binding. Some Salomon bindings have a foot bed, which covers the mounting screws. Pull it up from the back of the binding and push it off.
-
2
Unscrew each of the four mounting screws on each binding. Pull the binding straight off the snowboard. Repeat for the second binding.
-
3
Pay attention to the holes you used to mount the original Salomon bindings. Assuming the stance was comfortable, you can simply mount the bindings in the same position.
-
4
Shop for new bindings. When shopping, consider your riding style, binding type, binding flex, adjustability and price. Also, be sure that the mounting style is compatible with your board (4 x 4, The Channel, Burton 3D).
-
5
Be sure to select bindings in the right size. Check the manufacturer's sizing chart or fit your boots in the shop. Salomon's Authentic sizing chart runs as follows: Men's Small: 3 to 6; Medium: 6.5 to 9.5; and Large: 10 to 15. Sizes may vary depending upon boots; it's best to fit before buying.
-
6
Determine the left from the right binding and place them on your board according to your stance. Using your stance width, move the bindings over the set of mounting inserts on the snowboard you plan to use. Make sure the mounting strips on the disc are perpendicular to the board's edge. Adjust the bindings to your preferred stance angle using the markings on the mounting discs.
-
7
Place your boots in the bindings and move them between the edges to get them centered. This will determine which set of mounting disc holes you use to mount the bindings.
-
8
Insert one screw and washer into your first mounting hole. Screw it in, but don't tighten it all the way.
-
9
Insert a screw into the mounting hole that is diagonal from your first and screw it in, but don't tighten all the way. Repeat for the two remaining screws.
-
10
Tighten all four screws as tight as you can get them, then mount your second binding the same way.
-
11
Put your boots into the bindings and adjust the straps so they fit. Adjust the lean on the binding to your liking.
