1
Match the color of your pants to the rest of your gear. As a first rule, snowboarding pants should match, or at least not contrast with the color of the jacket. The pants should also complement the color of snowboard boots and the board.
-
2
Stitch patches, logos and decals to the pants. Athletes can add flair to the pants with patches from mountains they’ve boarded, companies whose gear they wear or teams for which they compete.
-
3
Lay the pants on a flat surface and straighten out any wrinkles with an iron on the lowest heat setting. Apply the iron in light, gentle strokes to avoid scorching polyester or nylon. Pick a location on the pants for the patch or decal and mark it with chalk or a wax pencil. Place the patch or decal on the area. Thread the needle and anchor the patches or sew-on decals or logos to the pants by double stitching one of the corners to the pants. To double-stitch, add one stitch at a corner and then add another stitch across it; pull the thread through and knot it above the surface of the patch or decal.
-
4
Stitch the entire border of the patch or decal to the pants. Take care not to stitch through the back of the pants. Finish the stitching by anchoring the thread to the pants with another double-stitch and knot.

5
Add iron-on decals or logos from sponsors. Some iron-on decals include transfer paper, while others transfer directly to clothing with an iron. Always use the heat setting on your iron that won’t damage the material on your pants.
