The club looks after 73 miles of funded trail and 25 miles of unfunded trail, ensuring that the trail is safe to use. A tractor is used to groom the route clear and uses a flail for brushing snow. Several fund-raising events, such as raffles and tournaments, are held throughout the year to fund the organization.

    • Over the 100 miles of the Paul Bunyan trail, you can visit as many as 14 towns. The trail runs from Brainerd on the south side to Bemidji on the north side, connecting the towns. The trail is broken into seven segments; segment five is popular because there are many bridges to pass and Walker, Benedict and Laporte are scenic areas. The nearby Brainerd Lakes area has 1,200 miles of networked snowmobile trails.

    • The best time of year to enjoy the snowmobile trail in Lakewood is between November and March. Outside of this season, the trail does not have sufficient snow, but it can be used as a hiking or cycling route instead, using the same accommodation facilities and trail segments.
