State Trails

Cattail State Trail is on an old rail corridor, and runs for 17.8 miles between Alamena and Amery in northwestern Wisconsin. This trail also is open to ATVs in the winter.
Military Ridge State Trail is a 41-mile trail that follows the route of an old military road built in the 1850s. It traverses an area rich in scenery and history between Madison and Dodgeville in southwestern Wisconsin.
The Gandy Dancer State Trail is a 98-mile trail near the Minnesota border that crosses back and forth between the two states. The trail follows the old Minneapolis, St. Paul and Sault Ste. Marie railroad grade from St. Croix Falls north to Superior. The trail features a view from a long bridge over the St. Croix River, located near Danbury.
State Forest Trails

The Northern Highland-American Legion Trail near Woodruff occupies more than 225,000 acres across three counties in northern Wisconsin.
The Brule River Trail near Brule traverses 31 miles of the Brule River State Forest in northwestern Wisconsin, and boasts scenic views of the Bois Brule River.
Kettle Moiraine South State Forest has more than 56 miles of groomed trails, many of which connect to private trails in Waukesha, Walworth and Jefferson counties, allowing access to many towns in the area.
State Park Trails

Yellowstone Lake near Blanchardville in southwest Wisconsin has 8-mile trail within the 1,000-acre park, and more in the adjoining 4,000-acre Yellowstone Wildlife area.
The Governor Dodge Trail in Governor Dodge State Park is near Dodgeville, and features a 15-mile snowmobile trail.
The Richard Bong State Recreation Area Trail near Kansasville is a former jet fighter base and is named for the World War II flying ace. There is a 13.2-mile snowmobile trail within the 4,500-acre park.
Peninsula State Park, located along scenic Green Bay in northeastern Wisconsin, has a 17-mile snowmobile trail.
