How to Clean Motocross Boots

Motocross is a sport that entails riding a motor bike on rough, dirt terrain. Going over hills and through valleys you're sure to get good and muddy by the end of your ride. White boots are popular in motocross fashion and, as you can imagine, they take a beating during the sport. There is an inexpensive way to clean the boots that involves going to your local outdoor car wash. If done properly, the boots are often ready to wear again the next day.

Instructions

    • 1

Use the high-pressure hose at your local outdoor car wash, on a low setting, to wet the boots.

    • 2

Allow the boots to sit for 10 minutes to let the caked-on dirt and mud loosen.

    • 3

Buckle the boots up and apply enough degreaser to cover the surface of the exterior of the boots. This helps to get rid of chain lubricant that gets on the boots. Let the boots sit to absorb the degreaser for about 10 minutes.

    • 4

Use the pressure washer to rinse the boots of degreaser. Mix the soap and water and apply the suds to the boots. Scrub the boots with your scrub brush. Try to get in as many nooks and crannies as you can.

    • 5

Give your boots one final rinse with the high-pressure hose.

    • 6

Unbuckle your boots and remove the inner booties. Place the boots outdoors to dry. Keep them out of direct sunlight.
