1
Remove your exhaust system from your CRF by unbolting it from the engine block at the manifold and withdrawing it from the frame. If you cannot do this, drain all the gas from the tank and leave the cap off for 1/2 an hour to evaporate any residue, and then put the cap in place. Drape your CRF in fireproof cloth.

2
Load the flux-core wire into your MIG welder following the instructions included with your model machine. Make sure the wire is fed through to the trigger grip, turn on the machine and test that it is feeding cleanly (just point the wire in the air and press the trigger, do not touch anything with the wire). Turn the machine back off.
-
3
Set up your turn down attach by slipping it over the end of your existing exhaust pipe and laying it on a (nonflammable) surface so the turn down and pipe are fully supported.
-
4
Attach the negative clamp lead from your MIG welder directly to one end of the exhaust pipe. Turn your voltage dial to 20 and your wire speed dial to 10.
-
5
Turn on the MIG and tack weld the turn down in place in three places, on top and on both sides. Stop and verify that it is still in the position you desire (it should join the exhaust pipe with a 3 inch overlap). If you need to, break the tack welds and reposition the turn down. If you are satisfied with the position, weld the turn down into place.
-
6
Reinstall the exhaust system on your Honda CRF.
