How to Do a Primo Flip

Learning how to successfully execute a primo flip can give you an edge on your opponent during a game of skate and add to the overall catalog of tricks you've mastered. In skateboarding, the term "primo" is used to describe when the board is standing directly horizontal on its side. A primo flip is often used when a skater wants to exit the primo stance. A skater can do a primo flip by understanding the correct foot placement and procedure.

      Step into primo stance. Locate the bolts nearest to the top of the board. Using your leading foot, place your toes directly over the bolts with your heel hanging off the board. Locate the bolts nearest to the bottom of the board. Using your back foot, place your heel directly over the bolts with your toes hanging over the board.

      Tilt the board into primo. Slowly bring your front foot off the board while simultaneously using your back foot to focus your weight toward the floor. The board will begin to tilt and the wheels will become visible. Place your front foot on the wheel and pull yourself up. The board should be on its side. Place your back foot onto the back wheels. The board is now in primo.

      Execute the primo flip. Place your back foot on the tail where the curvature begins and push directly down while simultaneously jumping into the air. The board will flip directly under you. When you see the grip tape, bring your feet back to the board. When the board makes contact with the ground, bend your knees to absorb the impact.
