How to Do a Tail Tap

The tail tap is an intermediate skateboarding trick that requires an inclined ramp. While advanced skateboarders perform the tail tap on a large ramp known as the half pipe, novice riders often learn the maneuver on a small quarter pipe ramp. The tail tap involves smacking the tail of the skateboard against the metallic coping located at the top of the ramp. When learning the tail tap in a skateboard park, wear pads and safety equipment.
