How to Advance a Ripstick

RipStik is a caster board. While many of the maneuvers of a caster board and a conventional skateboard may be the same, the boards advance differently. Once a RipStik is in motion, there is no need to place your feet on the ground until you step off. To gain speed on a skateboard, you must use your foot repeatedly to push off in order to gain speed. To advance a RipStik, you simply twist your body.

Instructions

    • 1

Familiarize yourself with your RipStik and RipStik terminology. Know that the smaller end of the RipStik is the "nose" and the larger end of the Ripstick is the "tail."

    • 2

Place the RipStik on a smooth, flat surface. Make sure that the nose faces the direction you want to ride.

    • 3

Place your feet parallel to the RipStik.

    • 4

Place your front foot in the center of the nose.

    • 5

Push off with your left foot and place it in the center of the tail.

    • 6

Twist your body in a front to back motion, shifting your hips and weight, to keep the RipStik moving.

    • 7

Twist more frequently to increase speed. Stop twisting to slow down.

    • 8

Use the toes of your front foot, pressing downward, to turn right. Press the heel of your front foot downward to turn left. Alternate turns left and right.

    • 9

Stop the RipStick by simply stepping off.
