Darkstar skateboards have proven time and time again to be reliable and of a high quality, with all the pop a skater could desire. Once a small manufacturer of wheels, Darkstar has become a top-of-the-line supplier of wheel and board technology.
  1. Dwindle Distribution

    • Based in El Segundo, Calif., Dwindle Distribution is the largest manufacturing and distributor of skateboards. It is owned by Globe International Limited, an international business managing boardsports, footwear and apparel. Darkstar is one of the seven skate companies Dwindle Distribution serves. Darkstar stands alongside with Almost, Enjoi, Speed Demons, Tensor Trucks, Blind and Cliché. Until June 26, 2007, Dwindle Distribution served World Industries until it was sold.

    Darkstar History

    • In 1997, Darkstar Skateboards began producing skateboard wheels. Since then, it has expanded into a board company, teamed up with a solid list of professional skaters. Chet Thomas, along with his brother Matt Thomas, are the founding members of the Darkstar company. Currently, they operate under the Dwindle Distribution label.

    Team Riders

    • Adam Dyet is a skater from Salt Lake City who is well-known for his feebles and k-grinds, as well as his back tails. His set-up includes a 8.3/32.2 Darkstar Dyet Armor Light board, Indy 149s, Bones medium bushings and 54-millimeter Bones Dyet wheels.

      Pierre-Luc Gagnon receives praise for his nollie heel flips. He hails from Carlsbad, Calif. His set-up includes a 8.3 custom shape with a 15-inch wheelbase, Thunder 149's Hollow Kingpins, Darkstar 58-millimeter speed plus wheels and Diamond 7/8 hardware.

      Ryan Decenzo, from British Columbia, Canada, is known for his frontside kickflips. His set-up includes a Darkstar Armor Light board, Thunder 149ers, Swiss bearings and Mace mids.

      Paul Machnau is a skater from Vancouver, British Columbia, who is notorious for his graceful front shove-its. His set-up includes a 8.3 pro model, Jessup grip tape, Indy 136s, Swiss bearings, 51-millimeter Lightning Cores and some mounting machines.

      Greg Lutzka is a technical skater from Milwaukee who enjoys incorporating kickflip combos. He is famous for his 270 back lipslides and frontside 360 kickflips. His set-up includes Almost Lutzka Pro Board 8 inch, Bones wheels 51, FKD bearings, independent trucks and Truegrit grip tape

    Technologies

    • Master Urethane are exclusive Darkstar wheels made for speed and no flatstops. It produces eight types of wheels: Hybrids, Dualdurometers, Speed Plus, Solid Master Urethane, Lightknights, Grippers, Clear Views and Lightning Cores. Wheels are graded and ranked on weight, smoothness, speed, size, and hardness, grip and rebound.

      Armor Ply boards are the newest editions to Darkstar products. The boards are made with eight ultra durable maple veneers and combined with an extra strong carbon fiber topsheet insert. They are pressed with super-bonding epoxy. Armor Ply boards are valued for their long-lasting capabilities.

      Armor Light boards are constructed from seven ultra light maple veneers. They are praised for their strength and their light weight. The boards are made with exclusive carbon composite technology. They have twice the fiber content for extra strength.

    Darkstar Guarantees

    • All Darkstar wheels which are made with Master Urethane are guaranteed against manufacturer defects and flat spotting for 120 days after the date of purchase, or within the first 5 percent of wear from the original wheel size. Flat spots are described as flat areas on the surface wheel. Assuming there are no defects in materials or manufacturing, Darkstar will replace your newly purchased wheels.

      All Darkstar Armor Ply and Armor Light decks are guaranteed against warping, delamination and breakage for a period of 30 days from the date of purchase. Assuming there are no defects in materials or manufacturing, Darkstar will replace your newly purchased deck.

      This warranty does not cover: improper assembly of accessories; intentional and deliberate attempt at breakage; normal wear and abuse; and edge chipping from ground, curb or walls.
