Local Skateboard Parks in Houston

Located 50 miles from the Gulf of Mexico, Houston is the largest city in Texas and the fourth largest in the United States. Thanks to warm weather for a majority of the year, outdoor recreation is extremely popular in the city. Municipal and county parks departments throughout the metropolitan area have obliged the skateboard community with numerous state-of-the-art skateparks.
  1. Lee and Joe Jamail Skatepark

    • First opened in the summer of 2008, the Lee and Joe Jamail Skatepark is the first in-ground facility of its kind in the South. In addition to the wide-open spaces of its 30,000 square-foot construct, the park offers stunning views of nearby downtown Houston from its Eleanor Tinsley Park location. The city sponsors on contests and workshops at the facility. The park has areas for all skaters and admission is free. Helmets must be worn at all times.

    Dylan Duncan Skatepark

    • The first of its kind in the greater Houston area, the Dylan Duncan Skatepark was originally known as the Kingwood Skatepark at the time it opened in 2004. With a little more than 5,400 square feet available for boarders, Duncan offers a host of benches, rails, ramps and other structures to allow for a maximum of creativity and fun.

    Clinton Skatepark

    • Dotting the western border of Galena Park in East Houston, the Clinton Skatepark boasts more than 12,000 square feet of fun. Open since the summer of 2005, the facility includes both half and quarter pipes and a jump box for its patrons. As is the case at most Houston-area skateparks, admission is free.
