1
Create a 3D rendering of the snowboard binding using SolidWorks' 3D computer aided design program. SolidWorks offers three different levels of CAD software, each with varying levels of sophistication and features. Use the 3D design feature tool to create a drawing of the binding you intend to have built. If you're considering marketing your bindings, remember that very few companies offer bindings that allow the snow boarder to both rotate and release the snowboard. Creating a binding that does both will provide you with a potentially marketable product.

2
Simulate the the design of your product using the SolidWorks Simulation program. This program will allow you to take your rendering from the CAD programming and then simulate its use in real-world conditions, using a virtual environment. Refine and redesign your binding as necessary to increase its overall quality and, perhaps, reduce the overall cost of production by having a prototype that needs little modification once created.

3
Test the sustainability of your binding using the SolidWorks Sustainability program. This program allows you to go beyond the simulation to instead conduct assessments of the parts you use to create your binding. The sustainability program also helps you locate parts and other necessary components of the product-creation process. This search feature allows you to determine whether or not comparable parts exist that may serve your purpose just as well as the original parts you intended to use.
