How to Set up a Minoura Trainer

The Minoura Bicycle Trainer is a device you can connect to your bicycle that enables you to ride your bicycle in place. You can simulate the feel of riding over different inclines by adjusting the resistance of the drive roller from a knob that clips to your handlebars. With this setup, you can workout as long as you want and as hard as you want, without worrying about traffic or lack of bicycle routes.

Instructions

    • 1

Pull the front legs out and away from the frame. Lay the trainer on a flat surface, such that all four legs are resting on the surface evenly.

    • 2

Thread the micro adjust knob through the provided washer and spring, and screw it into place at the bottom of the frame.

    • 3

Place your bike's rear wheel into the trainer, so that the front of the bike is facing the same direction as the extended legs on the trainer. The rear wheel axle should be between the couplings on either side of the frame. Turn both hub handles counter-clockwise to open the couplings further if you need to.

    • 4

Insert the side of your bike's rear wheel axle with a quick release lever into the corresponding coupling on the trainer frame. Turn both hub handles clockwise until the other coupling is in place on the opposite side of the bike's rear axle. Continue tightening the couplings until the axle is clamped in place, and the rear wheel is situated in the center of the drive roller.

    • 5

Turn the micro adjust knob clockwise to push the drive roller 3-4 mm into the tire.
