1
Pry the small cap off both sides of your Schwinn handlebars. Using the utility knife, cut back 3/4-inch of the foam padding from the end of the bars.
-
2
Select the right or left side bar end. Open the jaw slightly using the 5-mm hex wrench. The set screw is on the bottom of the bar end.
-
3
Hold the bar end against the Schwinn handlebar with the open jaw end against the end of the Schwinn bar where you pried off the cap.
-
4
Hold a small block of wood against the bar end. Tap on the block of wood to force the bar end over the end of the Schwinn bars. Continue tapping until the bar end bottoms out against the foam where you cut it off. Do both sides.
-
5
Get on the bike. Put your hands on the bar extensions. Pull them up or down evenly and adjust them to your preference. Get off the bike. Reach underneath the bars and tighten the set screws to lock the bar extensions in place.
