1
Plug the power cord on the Bowflex Treadclimber into a working power outlet if the machine will not work. Replace or reset the circuit breaker or fuse as necessary and make sure that the Treadclimber is turned "On." The power switch is located on the rear base.
-
2
Plug the "Safety Key" into the console if the machine has power but is not working. Turn the machine "Off" and then "On."
-
3
Turn the machine "Off" and remove the safety key if the console is not operating properly. Reinsert the safety key and restore power to reset the machine.
-
4
Use saline solution, such as that used for contact lenses, to wet the electrode sensors on a heart rate sensor if the heart rate is not showing correctly on the Treadclimber display. The heart rate should be worn under clothes with firm contact to skin near the pectoral muscles. Turn off other appliances that may cause interference, such as a television, microwave, computer or radio that is placed within 6 feet of the machine.
-
5
Adjust the belt tension if the belt is slipping or slowing down during use when the speed has not been altered on the display. Stand next to the machine and set the speed to "2 MPH." Step on one treadle and try to stop the movement. If one of the belts stops but the roller and the other belt on the other pedal still turn, turn off and unplug the machine. Use the included hex key to tighten each adjustment bolt in one full clockwise turn. Both bolts should be turned the same amount. Restart the machine and try again. Repeat as necessary until the belt moves correctly.
