How to Set an Omron Watch

Omron is a Japanese healthcare product manufacturer based in Kyoto that specializes in sensors and ultrasonic systems. The company makes a range of wristwatches for athletes that are capable of monitoring heart-rate during exercise and keeping track of time during the day. Setting your Omron watch when you first remove it from the packaging or when you change time zones ensures you always have the right time available.

Instructions

  1. Set the Time and Date

      Tap the "Mode" button in the bottom left corner of the watch until the time appears on the display.

      Hold down the "Mode" button for a few seconds. The "Hours" flash on the LCD display.

      Tap the "Set" button above "Mode" in the top left corner of the watch. The watch switches between "12 HR" and "24 HR."

      Press "Mode." The "Hours" of the clock start flashing. Tap "Set" until the correct hour is displayed. Press "Mode" again. The "Minutes" start flashing. Tap "Set" until the correct minute is displayed.

      Press "Mode." The display shows the day and month with the day entry flashing. Tap "Set" until the correct day of the month is displayed. Press "Mode" again. The month begins flashing. Tap "Set" until the correct month is displayed.

      Push "Mode" a final time. The watch exits setup mode and the time and date are correctly configured.

    Set the Alarm

      Tap the "Mode" button in the bottom left corner of the watch until the alarm appears on the display.

      Hold down the "Mode" button for a few seconds. The "Hours" flash on the LCD display.

      Tap the "Set" button above "Mode" in the top left corner of the watch. The hours advance forward. Push "Mode" when the correct hour appears.

      Tap "Set" until the correct minute appears. Push "Mode" -- the alarm is set and the watch returns to standby mode. Pushing "Set" toggles the alarm on and off.

    Set the Training Zone Heart Rate Limits

      Press the "TIME/Heart Icon" button. The heart rate display appears.

      Hold down the "Mode" button for a few seconds. The lower limit setting starts flashing.

      Tap the "Set" button above "Mode" in the top left corner of the watch. The lower changes. Stop when you reach the desired lower limit for your heart rate and press "Mode."

      Tap "Set" until the correct upper limit appears. The upper limit must be higher than the lower limit. Press "Mode" when you are finished. The training zone limits are set.

    Use the Stopwatch

      Tap "Mode" until the stopwatch screen appears.

      Press the "St/Sp." The stopwatch starts timing.

    • 17

      Push "St/Sp" again. The stopwatch stops.

    • 18

      Push "Set" -- the stopwatch returns to zero.
