How to Calculate Stride Length
With the use of a pedometer, pedestrians can estimate how far they've traveled. This is helpful for both hikers and for those who want to walk a certain distance each day to stay fit. In order to calibrate your pedometer, you must first measure your own stride distance, which is the distance of two steps. If your pedometer comes with specific instructions on how to do so, please refer to those instructions first. Otherwise, the following steps can be used to calculate your average stride length.
