How to Throw Ninja Darts
Instructions

1
Stand with your legs shoulder width apart, with your shoulders square to the target. If you are right-handed, stand with your left foot forward. If you are left-handed, stand with your right foot forward.
-
2
Hold the spike with the base of the spike resting in your palm and the point of the spike touching the tip of your ring finger.
-
3
Curl your thumb inward toward your palm and rest it gently on the side of the spike.
-
4
Extend both your arms in front of you as far as they will go. Put your palms together; keep holding the spike.
-
5
Pull your throwing arm back, mimicking the motion of pulling back a drawstring on a bow. Continue pulling your arm back until it is behind your head; think of the motion of throwing a baseball.
-
6
Leave your non-throwing arm extended in front of you to maintain balance. Put your weight on your back foot and get ready to throw.
-
7
Position your throwing arm's forearm, which is now behind your head, so it is pointing straight toward the sky.
-
8
Bring your throwing arm forward, down past your head and thrust it forward in front of your body toward the target. As you bring your arm forward, shift your weight from your back leg to your front leg. Keep your wrist straight; do not snap your wrist as you throw the dart. Move your arm quickly and smoothly; keep the tip of the spike pointing toward your head, almost as if you were dragging it forward with your hand. Use your extended opposite arm to help you aim.
-
9
Release your thumb and ring finger from the spike as soon as your arm is extended; you should be throwing directly at the target. The spike should slide out of your hand, almost as if you were rolling it out of your palm.
