How to Set Up a 2-Room 6-Person Tent

A two-room, six-person tent is an excellent shelter for a large group or family when car-camping. The Ozark Trail Pentagon Dome tent is manufactured by North Pole Limited for Walmart, and requires two adults to set up. The tent features mesh windows for ventilation, a waterproof floor and a rain fly. Accessories such as a gear loft and cup holder add extra comfort when you're camping in the great outdoors. With proper care, your tent can be your home away from home for many seasons to come.

      Choose a clear, level campsite. Unroll the tent and unzip the door.

      Extend the five tent poles fully. Slide each pole through the sewn-on sleeve on the roof of the tent. Insert the tip of the pole into the hub attached to the center of the roof. Bend each pole gently until it forms an arc, and put the opposite end onto the metal pin at the base of the tent.

      Locate the plastic clips along the seams of the tent and fasten them to the tent poles.

      Extend the two side poles fully. Slide each pole through the sleeve on the sides of the tent. Put one end of each pole on the metal pin at the base of the tent. Bend each pole gently until it forms an arc, and put the opposite end into the corresponding metal pin. Fasten the plastic clips from the tent onto the side poles.

      Extend the rain fly pole. Slide the pole through the sleeve underneath the rain fly. Spread the rain fly over the tent frame, with the pole hanging over the doorway. Put the tips of the rain fly pole into the corresponding grommets.

      Attach the S hooks from the rain fly to the loops next to the metal pins at the base of the tent. Attach the Velcro fasteners from the rain fly to the tent frame.

      Stake the corners of the tent to secure them.
