Arizona Hiking Clubs

Arizona's deserts are renowned for their beauty. With trails like Hell's Gate, Little Saddle Mountain, and Red Mountain it's no wonder Arizona has hiking clubs for every type of person. Whether you are a family with children, a single adult or gay there is a hiking club for you.
  1. Arizona Trailblazers Hiking Club

    • The Trailblazers are dedicated to promoting the understanding and appreciation of wildlife. Their trips range from short, day hikes to overnight camping trips. Non-members are welcome as long as there is space for them. The Trailblazers welcome members of all ages. Parents should always check with the hike leader prior to the hike to ensure the planned hike is suitable for children. Pets are not allowed. Hikes are planned all over Arizona including the Tonto National Monument and the Superstition Mountains.

Arizona Outdoor and Travel Club (AzOTC)

    • Open to members of all ages, the AzOTC welcomes singles and families. They organize hikes, biking and ATV outings and camping trips. The AzOTC offers difficulty ratings for each of their planned outings so members can easily decide which ones they are fit enough to attend. Guests are welcome and carpool arrangements can be made prior to each activity.

    Desert Adventures

    • Desert Adventures was founded in 1980 as an alternative way for gay and lesbian singles and committed couples to meet and mingle. While primarily a club for hiking and camping, they do occasionally include activities like museum trips, zoos and the theater. Activities are primarily held on the weekends and guests are always welcomed.

    Wandering Soles

    • Based in Tempe, Arizona Wandering Soles is a hiking club for adults. The club allows dogs, but no children. Activities are rated for difficulty and each hiker is responsible for knowing his skill level and limits. Activities include hiking, kayaking and the occasional party.
