How to Removal a Hogue's J-Frame Grip

Hogue grips are designed to provide a secure means for holding and firing both automatic and revolver handguns. Made of a soft rubber type material, the grips feature raised bumps of various size to assist with gripping the gun. The Hogue grips do not require screws or screwdriver for installation. Removal of the grips requires the use of a specialized tool that is included with the purchase of the Hogue grips.

      Open the cylinder of the J frame revolver. Remove all ammunition from the cylinder to make the weapon safe to handle.

      Hold the J frame revolver so the bottom of the grip is accessible.

      Insert the Hogue grip tool over the frame of the revolver handle. Position the Hogue grip tool on the handle frame near the stock pin.

      Push the grip tool forward to gently spread the Hogue grips away from the revolver handle frame.

      Release the grip from the stock pin that is attached to the revolver handle frame. Keep the Hogue grip spread away from the stock pin and slide the grip off the handle frame of the revolver.
