How to Put a Crosman Gun 1088 Back Together

The Crosman 1088BG is a .177-caliber air pistol that fires either pellets or BBs. The pistol is powered by a 12-gram compressed CO2 cartridge and is intended primarily for target shooting. You have to partially disassemble the pistol's grip in order to access the disposable gas cartridge for replacement. Putting your Crosman 1088 back together with a fresh CO2 cartridge in place is a straightforward procedure that shouldn't take more than a minute. Note that disassembly of the Model 1088 air pistol beyond what is required for cartridge replacement is proscribed by Crosman and will void your warranty.

Instructions

    • 1

Insert a fresh 12-gram CO2 cartridge into the grip of the pistol with the small neck of the cartridge pointing upward toward the piercing assembly at the top of the grip housing.

    • 2

Turn the piercing lever, located at the bottom of the pistol grip, clockwise to pierce the CO2 cartridge. Do not use any tool to turn the lever; grasp the lever only with your thumb and forefinger. Over-tightening the lever can damage your gun and possibly cause injury.

    • 3

Fold the piercing lever upward until it is flat against the bottom of the grip.

    • 4

Snap the left grip cover into place. Place the top notch of the cover under the lip at the top of the grip and push down on the bottom of the grip cover until it locks into place. Snap the right grip cover into place using the same procedure.
