How to End a Cobra Knot
A cobra knot is a braid-stitch knot used to make lanyards or decorative attachments out of cord. The cobra knot gets its name from the snake, as the hood of the cobra knot resembles the flattened hood of the snake.

1
Pull down on the loose ends of the cords used to braid the cobra knot. This tightens the knot.
-
2
Push the loose cords up and through the last cobra knot braid and pull down hard once more.
-
3
Tie a quick loop-knot (square knot) in the remaining threads. Attach your key ring or D-clip to the remaining ends. Cut off excess length and hold them under a lighter flame to melt the ends and prevent frays.
